Downloading

I don't know if my handset supports WAP ?

Nokia - Look  under "Services" - is there a "Home" option - Try it !
Motorola - Look  for a "Web access" menu  - Try it !

My handset complains about invalid or non-existent WAP settings ?

Contact your service provider and request that they text you a WAP configuration message. This information may also be available on their web site.

How do I enter your web address ?

Nokia - select "Services - Go to address" and enter http://daaa.net
Motorola - select "WebAccess - Go to URL" and enter http://daaa.net

What is "daaa.net" ?

It was the first available domain name that we could obtain which was simple to enter on a phone keypad. You can also use wap.scratchfone.co.uk or www.scratchfone.co.uk/wap if you prefer.

My handset says something like "Follow redirect link ?".

This is normal and you should select "Yes"

My handset says something like "No server access" or "403 Not allowed"

Try entering http://daaa.net/    (the trailing / can make a difference)

Does the price I paid for the text message / scratchcard include the cost of downloading the file ?

Normal WAP dialup connection charges or GPRS/HSCD data charges will apply during the download process.
You will NOT be charged any premium rate fees by whilst downloading.

Saving files

My handset flashed a message up quickly and then went back to the download page

Probably it automatically saved the file for you. Exit your WAP browser and have a look in your gallery or folders for the file. Normally it will be named from the product code or "scratchfone_file"

My handset says that the file "scratchfone_file.???" already exists

You have previously installed another accessory from us.
You will need either to choose a different name for the new file or rename the existing file
Don't allow your handset to overwrite the existing file as you will lose it !

Installing accessories

How do I install a wallpaper or screensaver ?

Look for your gallery or folders - browse them to the new file and you may be offered the option to set the file as wallpaper or screensaver
Access your phone settings menu and look for display settings. Find wallpaper or screensaver and select the file you downloaded.

How do I install a ringtone ?

Look for your gallery or folders - browse them to the new file and you may be offered the option to set the file as the ringtone
Access your phone settings menu and look for tone settings. Find Ringing tone and select the file you downloaded.

I can't find the file in my gallery (tones or images)

Your phone may have a memory card (e.g. Nokia 3300). If so the file was probably saved there. Navigate to the memory card folders and look for your file there.
